Handmade and Black Ebonite Homerton Grande model Fountain pen
Made from vulcanised rubber, Ebonite is amongst the materials of choice for custom pen makers. It's the material traditionally used by many of the best commercial pen manufacturers as a high end alternative to acrylics. Ebonite has a very long history. It is considered the first “synthetic resin” to become widely used.
In 1839, ebonite was invented by Mr. Charles Goodyear in the United States.
